Phases of Ritual

A framework for crafting rituals that are radical AKA rooted & liberatory.

Ritual:

intentional system within an intentional container for an intentional outcome.

Phases of Ritual is HOW we integrate ritual into life, work, & personal practice, without it becoming just another thing on the to-do list.

Part of identifying as a Ritual Witch means ritual shows up in all that I do.

HOW I integrate ritual into life, work, & personal practice is by integrating the Phases of Ritual into all that I do.

Essentially, whenever I’m like:

“How in the heck am I going to do XYZ??”

I think about the Phases of Ritual & how this framework might support me (it always does).

The Phases of Ritual are NOT prescriptive.

They are reminders to notice what choices are available to us in this moment so we can create intentional action.

The 6 Phases of Ritual

  • Before ritual begins, a magical intention must be set.

  • As we move into ritual, we ground into the present moment.

  • We call upon the wisdom of the world as well as the teacher within.

  • We perform a symbolic act which moves intention into action.

  • We commit to collective liberation so our ritual benefits all Beings.

  • As ritual concludes, we open circle & intention becomes impact.

The Phases of Ritual are informed by my study & training in:

  • Ashtanga AKA the 8 Limbs of Yoga

  • Whole Systems Design AKA Permaculture

  • Eco-feminist spirituality AKA Nature-based witchcraft

  • Transformational Coaching AKA Powerful Questions & Deep Listening
