Monday Practice Part 1: Big Picture Intention
This is part 1 of a 4-part series. Read part 2 here.
I've continued with my Monday Practice for enough years now, it's a weekly requirement.
If I don't create time to get my week all figured out, I feel like a chicken runnin' around with her head cut off.
I end up going through my week not sure what to do & by the end of the week, I feel like I didn't accomplish a thing.
I def feel like this guy:
In other words:
I commit to my Monday Practice as it supports me in keeping my shit together.
My weekly practice has 4 main phases:
Big Picture Intention
Reflection
Visioning
Money Date
Big Picture Intention
This initial phase is about getting back into alignment & remembering why we do the things that we do.
Essentially, we're setting the container for our business practice.
In creating my container, I tidy up my work space.
I move my body. I breathe.
I sit at my altar, tap into my intuition, & practice gratitude.
I complete my container setting by burning lavender as a reminder to my brain: Here we go! Business time!
Once I transition to my desk, I verify I have the necessary tools for my Monday Practice:
journal
pencil, eraser, & pen
laptop w/ Google Calendar & Asana open
I then give myself a few moments to remember, listen deeply, & write out my Big Picture Intention in my journal.
Our "Big Picture Intention" is the reason we do what we do. The thing that lights us up. The goal, the dream....our motivation.
Once we remember our Big Picture Intention, we can plan our week with this (& only this) in mind.
Anything that doesn't have to do with our Pig Picture Intention gets eliminated!
Your Action
Grab your journal & write about your Big Picture Intention.
Keep your Big Picture Intention in mind as you move throughout the week.
Observe which tasks are in alignment & which are not.
Be gentle & practice observing without judgment.
