Sloppy Breath Ritual

Sometimes a sloppy breath is the exact ritual I need.

🌬 A breath that might sound funny or weird.

🌬 A breath that might not be “perfect” (whatever THAT means).

🌬 A breath that might not be "lady like" (whatever THAT means).

What exactly is a sloppy breath?

Well, let's just do it together.

First, notice your breath.

  • Where in your body do you notice your breath?

  • Where in your body do you NOT notice your breath?

There's no right or wrong answer.

Just notice what you notice.

Now, take a deep inhale & exhale out your mouth.

Like really exhale.

Take another deep breath & this time on your exhale, let some sound escape.

Deep breath again, & with this exhale, allow your body to also participate.

Do whatever inspires you to REALLY exhale.

🌬 Maybe you slouch over.

🌬 Maybe you wiggle.

🌬 Maybe you shake it out.

🌬 Maybe you slouch & wiggle AND you shake it all out! (This tends to make a really funny sound that gets me giggling.)

Now combine it all together:

  1. Big deep inhale

  2. Exhale open mouth

  3. Allow sound to escape

  4. Wiggle/shake/shimmy to get that breath out ALL the way

Lovingly return to your natural breath.

Notice what you notice.

Rituals don't have to be complicated or go on for hours.

Sometimes the ritual that most serves is a few moments of intentional sloppy breath.
