Recognize these stories?
We live in a culture that loves productivity, no matter the cost.
The strive for ultimate productivity is deeply conditioned into so many of us the likelihood is high that you are either currently in burnout, have experienced burnout, or you’re on the brink of burning out.
There are many factors that contribute to burnout, including systemic oppression. I hold privilege that helps prevent some burnout while at the same time I hold marginalized identities that contribute to burnout. Both can be true. If I were to dismiss my experience of burnout due to my privilege, I would be actively dismissing my personal experience, my intuition, & my inner wisdom. Dismissing my inner wisdom is exactly what fuels the oppressive systems of capitalism.
Since our capitalist culture thrives on productivity, taking intentional rest can feel confusing. Do you experience any of these conditioned capitalist stories?
I only deserve rest once I’ve earned it.
They don’t seem to be resting so why should I think I can rest?
I’m lazy. I should just push on through.
If you resonate with any (or all) of those stories, you are not alone. I know each of those stories intimately. My practice is recognizing that I am not these stories & these stories are not my truth.
To live our intuitive truth, we are asked to release the inner dialogue stories that no longer serve us (& most likely were never ours in the first place) so we can more fully connect with our inner wisdom. Discerning which stories serve, & which do not, is a practice that supports deepening your relationship with intuition.
You. Are. Powerful. You can release stories that no longer serve & you can create new stories that serve your visionary goals. The choice is yours.
