Identify Your Next Sacred Action
At the Modern Witches Confluence this past weekend Marysia Miernowska said something during her workshop that really stuck with me:
The main role of the witch is to master [their] nervous system.
As I've been watching election results roll in I can feel my breath become shallow, my muscles tense, & my gut tie into knots.
Observing my physical experience brings me back to Marysia's words which then helps me to reclaim my power & remember: We have choice in how we respond to the events that happen to us.
Identifying Your Next Sacred Next Action
I offer this ritual practice as it has supported me in times of great uncertainty like we are currently experiencing.
First, connect with your breath.
The straightforward box breath practice or the sloppy breath are both excellent at down-regulating your nervous system.
Through your breath, connect with your body & your intuition.
Grab 3 pieces of paper & create the below action lists:
All the practices & rituals that support you in grounding into your power (ex: meditation, dance, tarot, sex, etc).
All the tasks (big & small) you can do to make a difference in your family, inner circle, community, neighborhood, state, region, country, world....
All the helpers you can call in for support. These helpers could be:
living (your mentor)
nonliving (loving ancestor)
known (influential teacher)
unknown (teacher-from-afar)
mythical (Kali Ma)
natural (Earth energy)
etc, etc
Place these lists upon your altar, or another sacred space you engage with daily.
When shit starts to feel crazy (or maybe the moment before), visit your lists & ask yourself:
What can I DO, right now?*
Allow your intuition to guide you as you pick one action from one list, becuase as Angela Mary Magick says “Keep It Simple, Sweetheart.”
This is one action from your one list is your next sacred action.
May this practice support you in reclaiming your power because we need YOU & your power.
