Is intention enough?
Each monthly Lunar Cycle we're gifted the opportunity to explore our intentions, as well as our actions.
For New Moon we identify our intention for the month:
Which aspect of my life requires my loving attention?
What do I need to learn/unlearn?
How can I make an impact?
By Full Moon we use the brightness of the Moon to reflect:
Am I implementing daily actions that represent my intention?
If yes, what feedback/data am I collecting?
If no, why not?
Each time we practice with the Lunar Cycle we practice both our inner work & how we show up in the world.
Saturday, June 20th is our next New Moon. I invite you to carve out time between now & then to contemplate your intention.
Before you begin, get really quiet. Take a few (or a lot) deep, belly breaths. Move your body & call upon the energy of the elements to nourish you. Do what you are called to do so that you may hear the whispers of your intuition.
Now explore the below prompts in any way that most supports your process - perhaps through writing, movement, &/or talking with a trusted friend.
Leave space to be surprised.
If I could talk to my Future Self, how would she tell me to use my energy?
What sort of impact do I want to make in the world? How can this impact align with my current interests?
If I put my perceived discomfort aside, what work do I have a responsibility to explore?
Deep thanks to Rachel Ricketts & her instagram post, "Fuck Your Intentions," for inspiring me to expand my concept of intention setting. If you're ready to engage, practice reparations, & do the inner anti-racist work, I highly recommend Rachel.
